Biological Sciences Technician

We are looking for a part-time Biological Sciences Technician at the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service Plant Materials Center (PMC). The PMC is a research and production facility focused on finding vegetative solutions to natural resource problems.  This includes selecting plants and developing information to support the use of plants for specific conservation purposes.  

This position is a great way to learn about the Natural Resources Conservation Service and get experience in conservation plant production and research. Technician’s assist with field production, facility operations and collect plant performance data to support natural resource conservation programs. Duties include plant care and maintenance of fields, greenhouses, and shade houses. Specific tasks include but are not limited to seeding, planting, irrigation, weeding, harvesting, and potting. Other activities can be monitoring harvesting plots, collecting data, and data entry.

Essential skills: We  are looking for individuals who are punctual, dependable, and enthusiastic about natural resources and plant sciences. A valid state driver's license is required.

Start date is no later than early Jan. We have a flexible work schedule, and the position could be available through the summer. Let’s talk about your future!
