Position: Bell Labs Machine Learning and AI Intern
Number of Position(s): 5
Duration: 10 weeks
Date: June 2nd to August 8th, 2025
Location: Onsite, NJ

 

The team you'll be part of

As a Machine Learning and AI Intern student at Nokia Bell Labs, you will be a part of the Statistics and Data Science Research Group, working on Machine Learning and AI projects with a focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), Computer Vision, Generative AI, and AI in robotics in an exciting industrial research environment. This role will give you the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience in a dynamic team. You will have the opportunity to build and prototype systems to demonstrate research innovations and publish research in premier conferences and journals. 

 

Educational Recommendations 

Currently a candidate for a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Statistics., or a related field with an accredited school in the US.

 

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

 

As a part of our team, you will:  

  • Research and develop advanced machine learning and AI techniques and algorithms
  • Evaluate algorithm performance using real-life and simulated data
  • Build and prototype systems to demonstrate research innovations
  • Propose, investigate, and publish research in premier conferences and journals

 

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Developed novel statistical and machine learning algorithms
  • Trained and evaluated the performance of AI models
  • Strong algorithmic problem-solving and software skills (PyTorch)
  • Published paper(s) in peer-reviewed venues

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Knowledge and experience in training multi-modal models
  • Knowledge and experience in Reinforcement Learning by Human Feedback or similar techniques
  • Knowledge and proficiency of Robot Operating System (ROS)
