Engineering Intern

Company Overview:
ATSP Innovations is developing and commercializing a new family of ultra-high temperature polymers for use as coatings, composites, adhesives, and foams.

Job Summary:
We are looking for interns who have a physical sciences background to work in the ATSP Innovations offices in Houston, TX. This role is needed immediately.
Job Duties:
•
Polymer production: Assisting in the production of ATSP oligomers from raw materials (monomers);
•
Sample preparation for customer: Powder coating and solvent-borne coating deposition; ATSP composite production;
•
Assisting Research Scientists in ongoing federal research activity for NASA, DOD or DOE.
•
Testing samples and handling instruments: TGA, DSC, Tensile testing, etc. (Training will be provided if required)
•
Lab maintenance - Helping organize the lab and maintaining 5S.

Job Qualifications:
•
Ability to work independently and cooperatively with all personnel in the organization
•
Candidates should be able to start immediately and maintain 15-20 hours/week during the academic year with the option to continue during the summer
•
Previous laboratory skills related to polymers and composites or industrial experience is preferred but not required.
•
Experience with Microsoft Office
