Human Resources Generalist

We are seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist to join our Corporate team in Wausau, WI.   Our Corporate offices serve multiple radio groups in eight Midwest states.  We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, exhibits good decision making and judgment, and understands the importance of accuracy and attention to detail. Prior Human Resources (HR) experience is needed as this is a mid-level position. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Participate in recruiting efforts and tasks, including the posting of jobs. 
  • Prepare and/or verify the accurate set-up of new employee records.  Follow up on missing or incomplete information or documentation.   
  • Complete day-to-day tasks necessary for HR to support timely and accurate pay-checks to employees.
  • Administer employee records to ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Obtain the proper documentation required to process changes in HR/Payroll software programs and to monitor and maintain reports.
  • Coordinate FMLA and/or Leave of Absence paperwork and absences.
  • Supervise performance management reviews from distribution to completion.

Requirements - Qualifications:

  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong computer, organizational (including multi-tasking abilities) and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Ability to execute tasks using superb attention to detail and accuracy to minimize time and monetary loss due to errors. Able to meet deadlines.
  • Mathematical skills, including arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, business courses and/or some college preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required for this position.
