Overview: JG Global Advisory (JGGA) is a woman-owned, global company providing advisory services and integrated solutions for environmental and international security challenges. Based in the Washington, DC area, JGGA provides consulting services to public, private, and non-profit sectors for formulating sound policies and business development on law enforcement, international security, and environmental issues for full cycle project management, project design, assessments and implementation, business development, and corporate social responsibility issues. JG Global Advisory (JGGA) is seeking a virtual, part-time intern. The internship is designed to provide a wide range of administrative and strategic experiences with environmental security issues. Internship Description & Responsibilities: The selected intern will be working closely with the President of the consultancy. Internship responsibilities may include conducting policy research, developing website and social media content, contributing to grant proposals, communicating with clients, drafting correspondence for the President of the company, assisting in marketing and outreach, and providing support in other daily activities. A primary focus of the internship will be to assist in the research, design, management, and analysis of social media content, as well as designing and editing website content. The intern will also be expected to conduct a long-term research project on an environmental security topic of their choosing, for which they will produce a multimedia piece. This internship is an excellent opportunity to interact with global environmental security experts, learn about developing policy and navigating Washington politics, get hands-on experience with a growing consultancy, gain exposure to environmental security topics, and receive mentorship from an international subject matter expert.
Minimum Qualifications Requirements: A successful candidate will be detail-oriented and have strong research, writing, organizational, and communication skills; and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team. This position will help conduct research and analysis, business development, and serve as an innovative thinker to further strategic policy and planning for international clients.
• Undergraduate degree or graduate degree in progress
• Background in communications or environmental science beneficial
• Strong interest in international affairs, environmental or sustainability issues preferred
• Expertise managing social media accounts, including LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram
• Excellent research skills
• Attention to detail and organizational skills are a must
• Well-developed writing skills for both print and online
Location: Virtual but must be able to work normal business hours EST time zone.
Duration: Start date is flexible; approximately 20 hours per week (days/times flexible) for 12 weeks.
Compensation: Stipend provided at end of internship. Unpaid position but may lead to a paid opportunity.
