Study Abroad Advisor - College of Engineering

Summary of Job Duties:

The Study Abroad Advisor for the College of Engineering primarily manages the study abroad portfolio for the College of Engineering, but also contributes to additional Colleges. The portfolios include faculty-led programs, student exchange, Rome Center, third party provider experiences, and international internship opportunities. This position provides comprehensive advising for students, including facilitating program selection and application processes, discussing scholarship and financial aid opportunities, and ensuring that abroad experiences meet students’ goals. In addition, this position conducts pre-departure orientations to prepare students for their international experience and collects feedback from students to assess program effectiveness upon return. This position also promotes international opportunities across all Colleges through summer orientation programs, workshops, informational sessions, and campus events to increase the visibility of international opportunities. Finally, this position supports faculty leaders to ensure program compliance with University policy and best practices for education abroad. 

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

At least two years of experience in higher education 


Preferred Qualifications:

At least two years of experience in international education

Experience in a university Study Abroad Office

Study abroad advising experience


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Experience with project management

Knowledge of Terra Dotta Management Tools 

Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Skill in written and verbal communication 

Skill in critical thinking and problem-solving

$47,454.00
