Outreach Manager, Executive Education, Corporate Partnerships, and Lifelong Learning | W. P. Carey School of Business

Job Description

The W. P. Carey School of Business, where business is personal ®, is searching for an Outreach Manager to join its Executive Education, Corporate Partnerships, and Lifelong Learning Team. The Outreach Manager is responsible for organizing and carrying out communication and outreach activities for the Personalized Cloud Computing Bootcamp: A Pilot Study using Orchard to Scale Workforce Development Initiatives. This individual would support in outreach, encourage participation, ensure engagement in the course and pilot, and provide resources and help place pilot participants into apprenticeship or internship programs. The Outreach Manager plays a key role in providing access to student and faculty talent, technical facilities, and other ASU assets to expand relationships between the university and businesses.

This is a temporary position with an approximate end date in December 2025.

Essential Duties

Corporate Workforce Partnerships:

  • Leverage workforce partnerships to engage employers who are interested in hiring IT talent including technicians and analysts in a variety of occupations including cloud computing.
  • Help employers assess technology workforce needs through intake assessments and gap analysis
  • Ensure the alignment between program needs and with W. P. Carey’s student, research, and faculty resources.

Curriculum Development:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and employer partners to develop program curriculum, objectives, and outcomes.
  • Facilitate development of training programs to meet industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop relationships with industrial partners to understand their talent needs and objectives.

Relationship Building:

  • Initiate and maintain external relationships with key stakeholders at partner organizations.
  • Foster sustainable partnerships benefitting both the University and corporate partners.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Nine (9) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Experience in corporate or university outreach, workforce development, or community engagement, ideally within the technology or cloud computing sectors.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing or technology training programs is a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with industry partners and educators to develop training programs or curriculum aligned with industry standards.
  • Experience building partnerships with corporate stakeholders in IT, technology, or related industries.
  • Experience assessing organizational workforce needs and aligning program offerings to meet industry demands.

Communication & Relationship-Building

  • Experience in interpersonal skills with a track record of fostering and maintaining long-term relationships with corporate partners, faculty, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in effectively managing multiple communication channels to increase program engagement and outreach.

Project Management & Organizational Skills

  • Experience with organizational skills to ensure alignment between multiple teams or programs simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

 

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions. Deliver presentations. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices & policies in selecting methods, techniques & evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Regular managerial review of results and objectives. Use of software and computer equipment (monitor, keyboard, mouse) for extended periods of time.
