Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Outreach to local schools, churches, non-profit organizations, and community resource centers to promote LLI and recruitment for the summer institute.
  2. Visit our targeted middle schools, speak to groups and individual students, and meet with school counselors, teachers, or appropriate staff to promote the program.
  3. Support LLI’s application process and follow-up through application help sessions, prospective student interviews, and congratulatory calls.
  4. Distributes marketing materials; coordinates community presentations; arranges visits to prospective students and parents.
  5. Participates in the development of student recruitment and retention plans, strategies, and written materials.
  6. Serves as a liaison and develops partnerships within the school system and LLI’s People of Distinction (POD).
  7. Weekly recap with LLI's Program Director
  8. Weekly timecard submission via the LLI Google Drive (includes a detailed summary)
  9. Work with LLI to assist in developing advertisements, social media campaigns, and more.
  10. Effectively utilize standard office software applications to prepare correspondence, presentations, and reports related to recruitment.
  11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Requirements:

  • Must be currently, attending college in the respective city (or nearby)
  • The preferred candidate is a graduate of the public school system and/or a previous participant in a similar college prep program
  • Preferred graduate of a public school in the city you currently attend college
  • Passion for students and issues related to DEI
  • Must have reliable transportation

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 10 hrs. week, primarily during “normal” school hours (8am-3pm)
Flexibility to do presentations per your class schedule
Reach a goal of at LEAST 4 presentations /week (combination of walk-ins and scheduled)
Compensation:
$200 per week for 15 weeks*
A monetary bonus of $25 per qualifying sign-up will be in addition to base compensation (paid out after the
conclusion of your contract)
*Assuming the full 10 hours are fulfilled—pay is based on hours actually worked
