Payroll Coordinator - Facilities Management

Summary of Job Duties:

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the processing of regular and supplemental payroll adjustments, period activity pay and special payout occurrences. They will work with Departmental managers and directors to research and correct payment instances and ensure there are no over-payments processed, manage collections if necessary and act as the liaison between central payroll. As adjustments or time issues are found the coordinator will ensure that both systems housing time (Workday and FAMIS) are in sync. This position ensures the accuracy of data entry and provides technical assistance and customer service to assists individuals and work units with resolving payroll problems with a superior level of customer service and other duties as assigned.

This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

At least two years of experience in payroll services activities or a related area

 

Preferred Qualifications:

At least two years of experience working in payroll services

At least one year of experience working in higher education

Experience in Workday

CPP or FPC certification


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of standard office software

Knowledge of processes and requirements for making payroll-related adjustments or change

Ability to scrutinize paperwork for accuracy

Ability to calculate payroll

Ability to establish, maintain, and reconcile payroll and accounting records and reports

Ability to provide direction and technical assistance to organization administration, departmental payroll personnel, and employees concerning payroll services activities
