Title: INTERN CREATIVE ARTS SCHOOL
General Purpose and Description
This is an intern position that will support the Program Administrator – Creative Arts School with all aspects of the school administration. This position is onsite and will provide customer service to instructors and students while classes are in session and assist with marketing and enrollment. The internship duration is six months unless extended by the Communications Director.
Essential job functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Assist with onsite administration of the Creative Arts School as directed, including class enrollment, volunteer coordination, and reception desk duties.
- Assist with marketing and social media campaigns.
- Assist in responding to emails, social media messages, and other correspondence from the public and media.
- Provide customer service to the artist instructors, students, and the public.
- Create content that highlights the training, personnel, and initiatives of the City of Delray Beach.
- Maintain clear communication with the Program Administrator and Director and provide timely and accurate updates.
- Work hours will include evenings and weekends.
- Perform all functions and responsibilities according to the Palm Beach County Code of Ethics and Florida State Statutes 112.313.
- Fosters positive employee relations and employee morale on a City-wide basis.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program with an interest in fine arts or a similar field. Possession of a valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Strong interpersonal skills, as well as empathy, compassion, and effective listening skills. Highly organized with strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to maintain good working relationships, exercise initiative, and sound judgment. Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of technology and Microsoft operating systems.
Schedule
Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per week, not to exceed a maximum of 29 hours per week..
Expectations
Candidates selected for an Internship will be expected to comply with all City and Department rules and regulations. In addition, candidates will be expected to wear appropriate attire during working hours in accordance with the City of Delray Beach policy, conduct themselves in a professional manner, and maintain the confidentiality of any information obtained through the Internship Program.
