Technology Support Technician
The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their full-time Technology Support Technician, Field Support position in the Office of Information Technology and Data Resources. The Technology Support Technician is responsible for working directly with staff to provide basic technology support. This is a federally funded position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responds to telephone calls and electronic support requests.
· Provides information regarding technology resources available.
· Initiates and maintains customer support for computer software and application services.
· Resolves routine problems as instructed or escalates more complex issues to appropriate personnel.
· Responsible for LAN troubleshooting.
· Creates and maintains E-mail and Domain Accounts for staff.
· Assists in maintaining IT Department inventory, including additions, transfers and surplus of equipment.
· Installs, upgrades, and troubleshoots MAC and Windows personal computer hardware and software.
· Instructs customers in correct procedures, special requirements, restrictions and
· supporting documentation needed to complete relevant process.
· Ensures that training is provided for the users as new technologies are introduced.
· Assists in identifying customer needs and working with vendors to obtain price quotes to fulfill customer technology needs.
· Performs VoIP system moves, adds, and changes.
· Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots network and local printers.
· Configures and supports mobile devices to include cell phones and tablets.
· Assists with setup and configuration of audio/visual equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma or GED and One year of work-related experience
· Must reside within the West Central GA region and willing to travel within the following counties, but not limited to: Heard, Carroll, Haralson, Fulton, Spalding, Muscogee, Sumter, Dougherty, Bibb, and Houston
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Associate degree *and* two years of work-related experience.
· Industry Certification (i.e., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.)
