Context of the Job:

The Delaware Technology Park (DTP) is a recognized leading East Coast non-profit research park, providing development-stage life science, information technology, advanced materials, and renewable energy companies with access to the resources and connections needed to drive and accelerate their economic success.

 

DTP@STAR offers flexible, state-of-the art incubation space and access to resources development-stage companies need to drive and accelerate their economic success. The facility opened in 2016 and is located in Newark, Delaware on University of Delaware’s expansive 272-acre STAR Campus.

 

The DTP@STAR STEM based Lab Incubator Administrator is a professional who manages daily operations ofthe Incubator and works with the BusinessDevelopment Consultant to assist entrepreneurs through the early stages of their development. The Administrator facilitates the daily requests and requirements of the entrepreneurial tenants. The role of the DTP@STARIncubation Administrator is essential to ensure the success of companies. It is essential in helping entrepreneurs maintain a safe and comfortable work environment and navigate the complex world of business as they achieve their goals.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operation of the incubation space including such thingsas mail distribution, keycard updates, conference room needs, and parking access.
  • Coordinate repairs,supplies, and site needs with the Facilities Manager.
  • Providing site tours and overview info about DTP@STAR
  • Monitoring the licenses of the incubator tenants.
  • Facilitate and help managecommunication between incubator companies with support services and resource partners.
  • Identify trainingand education needs of tenants.
  • Assist in collecting tenant information-especially data required for reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in MS program with knowledge of lab requirements. STEM background, preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple tasks and objectives.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple objectives by successfully prioritizing time and resources.
  • Ability to maintain strict level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and work effectively as part of a team. 

 

Special Requirements:

Position will require work in-person, onsite at DTP@STAR, for approximately 15 hours per week. There is flexibility in coordinating work schedules, but the role will require being on-site at least 3 days/week, for a minimum of a 4 hours/day during normal operating business hours (Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00PM).
