Instructional Designer Intern
Position Overview:
The Instructional Designer and Developer (IDD) Intern will support the Learning & Development team by designing and developing instructional materials for training programs that align with organizational needs and goals. This internship offers hands-on experience in creating e-learning modules, manuals, guides, and multimedia content while collaborating closely with subject matter experts (SMEs). The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and eager to apply instructional design principles to enhance the learning experience for employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Course Design and Development:
- Assist in designing, developing, and implementing engaging training programs and instructional materials.
- Create e-learning modules, user guides, job aids, and multimedia content that promote knowledge retention and application.
Collaboration with SMEs:
- Work closely with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate to identify learning goals, gather content, and ensure instructional materials meet learner needs.
Instructional Techniques:
- Apply instructional design principles and best practices to create effective learning experiences for diverse audiences.
- Utilize various instructional methods, including online training, blended learning, and in-person workshops, when applicable.
Assessment and Feedback:
- Develop assessments (e.g., quizzes, evaluations) to measure training program effectiveness.
- Gather and incorporate feedback from learners and stakeholders to continuously improve course content.
Innovation and Trends:
- Research and implement the latest trends, technologies, and tools in instructional design to enhance training delivery and engagement.
- Identify opportunities for innovation within current training programs and recommend updates.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in e-learning development and instructional design principles.
- Experience with e-learning development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and independently manage tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Knowledge of multimedia tools (e.g., video editing, graphic design) is a plus but not required.
