Electronics Engineering Intern

Overview

CAES by Honeywell is an industry leader in the design, manufacture, support of advanced integrated RF systems for high performance electronic warfare, radar/communications, flight test, and embedded electronic instrumentation sub-systems.  Our products are used by US and international customers in manned aircraft, UAVs, space launch vehicles, missiles and guided weapons applications.

 

CAES by Honeywell is looking for motivated aspiring electronics engineering interns / Co-Ops to work in a highly collaborative, growing electronics product development environment at the Lancaster, PA facility. You will work closely with design engineering, test, management, and production teams to support the development, prototype, verification, and manufacturing of complex embedded electronic products and test sets.  Ideal candidates will have multi-disciplinary capabilities in addition to electronic systems background. 

 

This is a growth and development position primarily for 3rd and 4th year college students looking to gain experience and skills toward their intended degree.  We offer flexible full and part-time work schedule options to accommodate and support student class load requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Independently interpret requirements and specifications and conceptualize solutions.
  • With oversight, help develop and write engineering plans and procedures.
  • With oversight, design and engineer product, systems, and sub-systems.
  • With oversight, participate in assigned project tasks on current programs.
  • With oversight, collect test data and write test reports using designated enterprise tools and systems.
  • With oversight, participate in the fabrication, coding, operation, and verification of test sets.
  • Independently perform related or supporting engineering work assignments as business needs require.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Current student enrolled in relevant electronics engineering undergraduate or graduate engineering program.
  • Ability to effectively collect, track, and accurately input data
  • Ability to operate independently navigate and complete assigned tasks
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
  • This position will require a security clearance

 

Desired Skills:

  • Proficient with communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of structured problem solving.
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project.
  • Proficiency with software / firmware coding in LabView, C, Python, and/or VHDL
  • Ability to generate presentations and deliver project or task status reports in a group setting.

This position is open to local / regional candidates within reasonable commuting distance. We do not offer travel or housing assistance for this position.

 

Salary Range: $20 per hour. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
