Internship description

The science labs have several projects that student interns could help us complete.

First, our Medical Laboratory Technology program has a supply/equipment inventory that needs to be updated prior to fall semester beginning. This inventory helps lab staff to determine what needs to be purchased for the following semester and what items should be discarded as they are expired. Student(s) will work with the lab Manager to complete this project.

Second, stage 1 of our biology slide archive project was completed with the help of student interns last summer. Stage 2 will be completed this summer, and student(s) will help reorganize the slides in the slide boxes based upon our re-sorted online inventory completed by Mikayla.

Third, last summer we cleaned our anatomy models and started labeling and fixing them. This summer this process needs to be continued, with student(s) assisting us, to reclean heavily used models as well as organize, label and fix other models not completed last year.

Fourth, the physics and earth science departments need complete equipment inventories completed. Student(s) will work with Jeff Flanick to record serial and model numbers for all of the older equipment that is not already inventoried. This will help us to identify future purchasing needs to replace old/obsolete equipment.
