Are you passionate about leadership development, youth engagement, and social impact? NVEEE (National Voices for Equality, Education, and Enlightenment) is offering a unique opportunity to join our Program Development and Youth Engagement Committee as an intern. This remote, unpaid internship focuses on developing and executing transformative programming for NVEEE's flagship event, the Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit (PALS), hosted at four prestigious universities: the University of Central Florida (UCF), the University of Florida (UF), Florida International University (FIU), and Georgetown University (GU).
What You’ll Do
As a member of this committee, you’ll gain hands-on experience in program development and event management, contributing to tasks such as:

Engaging and Impactful Responsibilities:

Monitor Registration Platforms
Oversee the setup and maintenance of registration systems for all NVEEE programs, ensuring smooth data collection and management. -
Assist with Program Schedules
Help create detailed schedules for PALS, PALP, and Affirm events, ensuring that all workshops, activities, and speakers are well-coordinated. -
Increase Program Participation
Develop creative strategies to boost participation in NVEEE programs by leveraging community outreach, social media, and partnerships. -
Coordinate Logistics
Work closely with facilitators, guest speakers, and vendors to ensure all logistics are handled seamlessly, from contracts to event-day needs. -
Support Onboarding
Assist with onboarding new committee members or program volunteers, ensuring they understand their roles and deadlines. -
Evaluate and Improve Programs
Gather and analyze program feedback, suggest improvements, and track the implementation of those changes for future success. -
Collaborate on Themes and Workshops
Brainstorm and develop engaging themes, topics, and workshops for PALS, PALP, and Affirm, tailored to youth leadership, social justice, and personal development. -
Junior and Senior Counselor Training
Assist in creating and implementing training sessions for PALS counselors, focusing on leadership development and effective facilitation techniques. -
Interactive Workshop Development
Design creative, hands-on workshops for youth, incorporating elements like storytelling, team challenges, and problem-solving activities. -
Youth Engagement Strategies
Create initiatives to keep participants involved year-round, such as PALP projects, Affirm workshops, or service challenges that encourage leadership in their communities. -
Cultural Exchange Activities
Plan activities that celebrate diversity, such as cultural sharing sessions, food tastings, or storytelling circles to build empathy and inclusivity. -
Creative Recognition Programs
Develop innovative ways to celebrate participants' and counselors' achievements, such as award ceremonies, custom certificates, or digital badges. -
Playlist Creation
Curate inspiring playlists for events, focusing on music that energizes and uplifts participants during workshops or downtime. -
Photo and Video Contest
Launch a contest for participants to capture their experiences through creative photos or videos, with prizes for the most impactful submissions. -
Service Project Brainstorming
Collaborate with youth to design meaningful six-month service projects for PALP, such as environmental initiatives, mental health campaigns, or community advocacy programs. -
Event Support and Logistics
Provide hands-on support during NVEEE events, assisting with setup, participant check-ins, and real-time problem-solving. -
Survey and Data Analysis
Assist in creating and analyzing surveys for participants, counselors, and families to assess program impact and identify areas for growth. -
Storytelling and Media Creation
Collect testimonials from participants and families to craft compelling narratives for newsletters, social media, and grant applications. -
Program Budgeting
Contribute to budget planning for events and activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and resources. -
Team-Building Activities
Plan engaging team-building exercises for PALP and Affirm participants, strengthening their leadership and collaboration skills.
