
Controlling Analyst
BWXT is currently seeking a Controlling Analyst for its Erwin, TN location!
Join our small, collaborative team in making a vital impact on BWXT projects. Bring your manufacturing and financial analysis expertise to perform controlling and financial analyst functions for multiple, separate projects. Provide meaningful and accurate analysis information to improve profitability, and complete month-end closing and budget tasks.
- Manage Capital ACE and Expense Project coordination with Project Controls, including tracking and reviews.
- Investigate manufacturing cost situations and propose methods and programs for improving financial results of each project.
- Generate and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports, discussing results with key stakeholders.
- Drive the project team to meet financial goals for all activities that impact project financial performance.
- Analyze manufacturing variations and perform various account analyses.
- Assist with labor reconciliations for project related costs.
- Ensure completeness of month end closing, quarterly forecasting, and budget process tasks
- Complete activities for the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close that includes journal entries, financial statement reviews. Ensure compliance with accounting principles
- Prepare month-end reports including analysis of major cost drivers.
- Support ad-hoc requests such as cash flow, budgeting, accounting reserves, governmental reporting and audits.
- Serve as point of contact for employee expense reporting issues and resolution in Concur.
- Maintain documents for vital records systems.
- Establish or revise processes and procedures.
- Maintain accounting portion of fixed asset processes, including maintaining fixed asset inventory.
- Manage the implementation of new controlling tools and processes and procedures as directed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Previous manufacturing or cost accounting experience.
- Financial Controlling experience in a Manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret and apply company guidelines, SOX, GAAP, and government regulations.
- Ability to understand and apply US GAAP and IFRS
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA or CPA
