Qualifications and Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Must be pursuing or have attained a Bachelor’s Degree (with coursework in Calculus 1 & 2 and Physics 1 & 2)

Responsibilities
Submarine Officers are deeply involved in every aspect of submarine operations, from technical management to leadership. You’ll have the opportunity to be in charge of critical systems and personnel. Key responsibilities include:
- Operating and overseeing the nuclear reactor, power generation, and propulsion systems to ensure the submarine’s operational readiness
- Maintaining and managing onboard weapons systems, ensuring operational effectiveness and safety
- Managing all life support systems to ensure the health and safety of the crew
- Navigating the submarine while on mission and charting its position with precision
- Operating sonar, radar, fire control, and communication systems, as well as specialized mission equipment to support diverse military objectives
Work Environment
As a Submarine Officer, your work environment will be as varied as the missions you will lead. You will experience:
- Classroom-based academic training in advanced engineering and naval operations
- Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment in prototype training facilities

- A salary of $5,500–$7,500 per month for up to 42 months prior to college graduation
