Parks and Recreation Intern

HIRING RATE: $14.71  

FULL SALARY RANGE:  $14.71  - $18.02 Hourly

The Position:
The purpose of this position is to provide an individual with exposure to operational, field and administrative functions of the Parks & Recreation Department.

Please note that this position is for a Spring internship January-May 2025. 

 

Essential Functions

The following duties are NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all listed duties and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.  
 

  • Assist management with special work projects from conception through implementation.
  • Conduct in-depth research studies and/or surveys specific to municipal government programs and services.
  • Assist in the preparation of statistical analysis and report findings or research studies to supervisor or department head.
  • Assist with the development of written and oral presentations.
  • Attend meetings, and participate in program events, field, operations, and administrative tasks.

 

Job Requirements

Education & Experience
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with at least 24 hours of completed coursework at an accredited college or university, and current enrollment in a Parks, Recreation, Sports, Event Management, or similar degree program at an accredited college or university.
  • No prior relevant work experience is required.


Certification and Other Requirements
Valid Texas Class C Drivers License.
