Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Pediatric Student Rotation Opportunity 
Children’s Behavioral Services (CBS) – South Central Missouri (Willow Springs & West Plains)

About Us  
Children's Behavioral Services (CBS) is a growing multidisciplinary team specializing in pediatric therapy in South Central Missouri. Since opening in 2019, CBS has expanded to two state-of-the-art facilities with treatment pods, sensory gyms, and inclusive classroom spaces. We currently offer Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Occupational Therapy (OT), with plans to introduce Speech-Language Pathology and Physical Therapy in 2024. Our services span clinic settings, local schools, and in-home care, and we’re passionate about providing innovative, individualized support to children and their families.

Opportunity Overview
This rotation offers students the chance to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic pediatric therapy setting. Under the guidance of licensed Occupational Therapists, students will have opportunities to build clinical skills, learn best practices in occupational therapy, and explore interdisciplinary teamwork in a supportive environment.

What You’ll Gain
- Direct Patient Care Experience: Assist with hands-on therapeutic activities, exercises, and interventions, promoting patient safety and comfort.
- Skills Development: Learn to document patient progress, adapt treatment techniques under supervision, and work with children across diverse settings.
- Patient and Family Education: Develop skills in educating families on home-based exercises and safety to support continued progress outside the clinic.
- Professional Collaboration: Participate in team meetings and case discussions, sharing insights from a COTA perspective and learning from multiple disciplines.
- Mentorship and Supervision: Receive personalized mentorship from licensed Occupational Therapists, gaining confidence and skill in delivering pediatric OT.

Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans and provide direct patient support.
- Document patient progress, observing changes and collaborating with supervisors.
- Educate families on therapeutic activities and safety measures.
- Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
- Adhere to all professional standards and policies governing occupational therapy practice.

Qualifications
- Enrollment in an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- A passion for working with children, especially those with developmental challenges.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Interest in learning about interdisciplinary pediatric care.
