Financial Operations Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented candidate with accounting and finance experience to manage our financial operations. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, will both oversee and participate in accounting operations, and will support strategic initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our growth and success. This position will require being onsite in the office in Columbus, Indiana.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and oversee the accuracy of financial statements; including balance sheets, income statements, account reconciliation, and cash flow statements, in compliance with GAAP.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development of the annual budget and financial forecasts. Analyze budget variances and present findings to management.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and analyze operational costs, implementing strategies to improve efficiency and profitability. Working closely with accounts payable, to monitor and analyze operations cost. Oversee acquisitions of capital assets.
  • Compliance: Assist with ensuring payroll tax filings are done correctly and on time.
  • Cash Flow Oversight: Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure the facility has the resources needed for daily operations and growth initiatives.
  • Audit Coordination: Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support operational decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
  • Process Optimization: Evaluate and enhance financial processes and reporting systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Project Management: Utilize ERP system to complete the accounts receivable cycle, which includes; quotes, purchase orders, invoicing, and remittances.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
  • Small business operations; experience in a testing facility or similar environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of S-Corporation structure is helpful.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and cost accounting.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills to present information to leadership.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in government contracting is a plus.
