Universal City:
At our Universal City office interns will have access to the NBCUCommutes program, which provides fully subsidized transit passes to full-time lower lot employees, good for unlimited rides on all Metro bus and rail, such as the Metro Red Line.
Summer 2025 Recruitment Timeline:

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summer 2025 Internship Program:

Program Dates: June 2 – August 8, 2025
Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.
Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Universal City, CA.

The Entertainment Group develops and schedules the network’s primetime, late-night, and daytime entertainment programming, including USA, SYFY, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, and Universal Kids. NBC’s quality programs and balanced line-up have earned the network critical acclaim, numerous awards and ratings success, including most recently winning the traditional September-to-May season in primetime’s key demo, marking the network’s third win in four years. NBC has earned more Emmy Awards than any network in television history.
Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
Bravo & E! Creative: Assisting Pre-editors with promo and social video production for our Reality Shows, basic editing skills are desirable for screening our shows, identifying and pulling shots for various video projects, participate in brainstorming sessions for various initiatives as necessary, identify fun social opportunities for our reality shows, participate in pre-production and observe shoot day production for video shoots as needed, attend daily approval and production meetings
Bravo & E! Design: Using an existing keyart, the design intern will use Photoshop to help us to make the 75-200 assets needed for each show as it travels across the nonlinear entertainment space. From streaming apps to marketing opportunities, they will be responsible for consumer-facing layouts as well as help execute assets on our social media feeds
Entertainment Photography: Support West Coast Photo Producers, perform basic photo editing – reviewing photographer unit/episodic coverage for best images, assist with digital photography production process – ingest digital images, renumber, create and apply metadata to files, resize, upload, and distribute to NBCUniversal Media Village, assist NBCU photo archive team with choosing and uploading metadata for older shows (i.e. The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson)
Entertainment Print Design: The print design team conceives and produces imagery, messaging, graphics and experiences for the NBC Entertainment brand, properties, franchises and cross-company initiatives for use across all platforms. Interns will create and design static print materials using a wide variety of media, and collaborate with the Creative Team: Creative Director, Designers, Copy Writers and Production Artists
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Requirements:
Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (June 2025 through August 2025). May 2025 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2025 Internship Program.
Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
Desired Characteristics:
Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
Interest in typography, branding and layout, publicity and/or marketing preferred.
Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects), AVID, DAM systems a plus.
Passion for entertainment and pop culture.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
Highly organized and eager to learn everything photo related.
The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $17.50.
