System Engineer - Assembly, Integration, and Test

The successful candidate will have experience with systems, processes, and strategies necessary to manage a build of space hardware. In this role, the candidate will lead and support spacecraft programs beginning with AI&T planning through hardware build and test. This teammate should have a balance of technical and leadership skills necessary to effectively work with various engineering disciplines and service centers while achieving build and test schedule milestones.

Key Responsibilities
- Design AI&T plans to meet program requirements
- Manage and perform activities for the assembly, integration, and testing (AI&T) of space hardware
- Oversee scheduling facilities, hardware resources, and personnel
- Develop, maintain, and communicate regular program status reports for internal and external customers to monitor and report progress
- Work closely with technical leads to successfully implement design objectives
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in assembly, integration, and/or test role
- Proven technical background in one or more aspects of space hardware (mechanical, thermal, electrical, spacecraft, etc.)
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, physics, or related field
- Demonstrated ability to manage lab facilities, equipment, and operations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in interacting in a cross functional department environment
- Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a US government security clearance
- Must be able to travel occasionally to support customer and vendor meetings as well as test events
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with environment test processes (thermal vacuum, vibration, EMI/EMC, etc.)
- Previous experience leading space hardware AI&T efforts
