Shop Administrative Technician III

Nature of Work: The Shop Administrative Technician III is responsible for administrative support work involving storekeeping, scheduling, and purchasing duties within an MDTA maintenance shop facility and/or E-ZPass Customer Service Center. The duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for clerical duties in support of operational functions;
- Performs data entry, inventory checks, and purchasing of materials, supplies, and services;
- Coordinates delivery of goods and services with vendors;
- Verifies purchasing documents against invoices to ensure proper billing and coordination with the Finance Division for payment of invoices;
- Balances purchase card statements against purchases and forwards relevant information to the Finance Division;
- Manages the procurement process, including the review of catalogs, contacting vendors, writing specifications, evaluating bids, determining prices, and ordering supplies, parts, and materials;
- Contacts vendors to initiate the bidding process for items or services that are not under contract;
- Monitors statewide weather forecasts and enters the data into the emergency operations reporting system; and
- May be required to lift moderately heavy items at times, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Employees in this position will report directly to the Chief Facility Maintenance Officer (CFMO)/Deputy Facility Administrator. The current vacancy exists in Anne Arundel County, MD. This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies throughout the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA).

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing administrative support work and/or receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment in a storeroom, warehouse, or other supply storage facility. May require the ability to type accurately at a speed of not less than twenty words per minute.
