Primary Function:
As a Lean Manufacturing Intern at Allegion, you will gain hands-on experience in implementing Lean principles and methodologies to improve operational efficiencies. You will work closely with our manufacturing team to identify areas for improvement, develop solutions, and lead hands on implementation efforts on the manufacturing floor.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the identification and analysis of process improvement opportunities within the manufacturing environment.
- Support the development and implementation of Lean tools and techniques such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Standard Work.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
- Collect and analyze data to track the progress and effectiveness of Lean initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide support in training and educating employees on Lean principles and practices.
- Document and present findings and recommendations to the management team.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies is preferred.
- Prior internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
