Mesa Conservation District (MCD) is dedicated to promoting sustainable land and water use practices that protect and enhance our natural resources. We work collaboratively to support a wide range of natural resource programs designed to preserve the health of our watershed and build resilience in the face of environmental challenges.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an energetic and organized District Manager (DM) to serve as a support contact between the District, private landowners, agricultural producers, and the community. The DM will play a key role in engaging stakeholders, managing communications, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the District. This position involves administrative duties, financial management, community outreach, and supporting the Board of Supervisors (BOS) and District Director in various initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take and maintain accurate board meeting minutes per MCD policies.
- Assist the Director in organizing and facilitating MCD-sponsored meetings, workshops, and events.
- Work with the Director on financial administration, including grant tracking and reporting.
- Prepare timely reports, plans, and requests as needed.
- Organize and maintain MCD files and records, ensuring accessibility and compliance with policies.
- Collaborate with the Director to submit all required documents to meet state statutory requirements (e.g., DOLA, CSCB).
- Maintain and update the District website and social media accounts to enhance public education and engagement.
- Manage QuickBooks Online for financial tracking and grant reporting.
- Collaborates with the BOS and Director to generate new innovative ideas and projects that support the District’s mission.
- Engage the public and raise awareness of MCD activities and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of work experience in a related field or equivalent education in Accounting, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or Natural Resources.
- Ability to work both with a team and independently.
- Demonstrated proactive and self-motivated approach.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to develop rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Customer service-oriented with a willingness to help and engage the community.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive; ability to learn new software platforms as needed.
- Experience managing content for websites and social media accounts.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
- Familiarity with agriculture, day-to-day office operations, and stakeholder communications.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience with state and federal funding.
- Experience with community outreach and education.
- Experience in social media marketing, graphic, and website design
- Experience with event planning and/or management
