Nuclear Regulatory Affairs Enviromental Summer Intern

APS Palo Verde is looking for Nuclear Regulatory Affairs (Environmental) Summer Intern to join their team in Tonopah, AZ

 

The APS Nuclear Regulatory Affairs (Environmental) Summer Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience, developing, practicing, and learning business, engineering, information systems, and fundamentals within the Nuclear Regulatory Affairs organization.  Students will apply their knowledge and problem solving abilities in support of long-term station environmental projects and ensuring station compliance with federal regulations. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the environmental regulatory landscape environmental processes, and the day-to-day activities involved in ensuring nuclear facility compliance.

 

The Palo Verde Summer internship is a paid 10-week program, starting in May, ending in July. During the 10 weeks at Palo Verde, you will be equipped with the tools needed to thrive and be challenged with meaningful individual and group projects. You will get support from leaders who will help you succeed.

 

Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in a New Hire Orientation, Professional Development opportunities and company tours to learn more about Palo Verde and Arizona Public Service. Qualified students will receive housing during the program, if an in-person internship.

Minimum Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate degree program in any science or engineering program.
  • Must have 60+ semester credit hours

 

Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate program in a chemical engineering, environmental science, or any natural science related discipline
  • Data analysis experience
  • Hydrology or geology experience
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft tools
