Job Title: Pastry Cook
Department: Kitchen
Reports To: Pastry Chef
Job Statement:
We are looking for individuals who have a passion for creating quality culinary creations. The pastry cook is responsible for the preparation and production of quality patisserie/confiserie pastry items such as cakes, pies, breakfast pastries, breads, doughs, cookies, fillings, ice creams/sorbets, amenities and special request items. Production pars for Pastry Department must be maintained to ensure guests are served promptly and to restaurant standards. They must follow recipes and guidelines to ensure food quality standards are upheld, waste is minimized, and health regulations are met.
Education & Experience:
- Standard High School diploma or equivalent Vocational Training Certificate/Apprenticeship required.
- Certification of Culinary Training and/or 2-year Degree in Culinary/Pastry Arts from an accredited university (preferred).
- Professional Experience: 1-2 years restaurant experience (preferred).
Requirements:
- Proficient in English
- Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- High School diploma or equivalent Vocational Training Certificate/Apprenticeship
Expectations:
- Possess skills necessary to prepare and execute dishes consistently to G.Lion standards
- Maintain proper food production pars to ensure availability during service and for following days
- Protect the quality of food items through date and labeling practices to rotate products efficiently using FIFO.
- Notify the Chef Team or Lead Baker of any issues concerning the Pastry Department
- Communicate in a calm and professional manner with other departments concerning necessary production items used in the station.
- Adhere to health, safety, and work uniform regulations
- Treat staff respectfully
- Possess a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Show a willingness to learn, cross train, and assist others when needed
- Carry out assigned tasks in an orderly and timely manner
- Assist with training new pastry staff
- Listen to guidance provided by Chef Team and Kitchen Leads

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, based on experience
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
