Highway Operator III - Maintenance Patrol
Chippewa County is accepting applications for an Operator III – Maintenance Patrol position within the Highway Department. The job duties of the Operator III – Maintenance Patrol include but are not limited to use a variety of heavy equipment for construction and maintenance of roads and bridges; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. Winter maintenance activities will be required for this position.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Class A CDL without restrictions E and L required. Minimum three (3) years’ experience in heavy equipment operation on a routine basis and must be able to operate a variety of equipment relating to construction and maintenance of roads and bridges. N-Tanker Endorsement required within 6 months from date of hire. MSHA certification for work in mines preferred. Employer provided certification to be obtained within 12 months of full-time hire. Certifications – as determined by the County based on the position. Road maintenance or construction experience preferred. A cell phone is required. Starting Wage: $24.54 - $26.67 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $32.00 per hour.
