Embroidery Specialist
Job Summary: Have you ever wanted to be part of the Magic? We are looking for Embroidery Specialists to support our Disney Live Entertainment costuming production teams! Embroidery Specialists collaborate with Costuming teams in the preparation of embroidery designs for entertainment and operational garment production. In this role, Embroidery Specialists scan and digitize artwork, create specification sheets, and operate embroidery equipment to perform embroidery stitch-out.
You will report to the Costuming Workroom Manager.
The pay rate for this role in Florida is $17.50 per hour.

As a part of the consideration process for this position, there will be a 6 hour in-person embroidery assessment.
Responsibilities:
- Scan and digitize embroidery designs or artwork
- Embroidery stitch-out
- Prepare designs create specifications sheets for production
- Communicate with various levels of leadership
- Collaborate with Pattern Makers, Buyers, Costumers and Designers
- Choose/suggest appropriate raw goods, hoop, and trims
- Operate multiple embroidery tools and equipment simultaneously
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Operate embroidery machines with efficiency and an outstanding commitment to detail
- Comfort working with all types of fabrics made of synthetic and natural fibers such as fur, foam, vinyl, latex, and leather
- Ability to read and interpret garment construction instructions
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new locations, processes, and technology
- Work for extended periods of high activity
- Sitting, standing, or walking for extended durations
- Repetitive twisting and bending
- Repetitive grasping, clutching, grabbing with hands
- Minimal climbing of step-stools/small ladders
- Lifting, lowering, and sliding of boxes/containers
- Push or pull up to 46 lbs.
- Lift up to 50 lbs or team lift with 2 Cast Members a maximum of 85 lbs.
- Comfortable working in an area where you may be exposed to performers in multiple stages of dress and undress
- Flexible with work schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Full-Time roles require full availability for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays is preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of experience in garment construction or repair position with a focus on embroidery
- Experience operating home or industrial embroidery machines
- Experience operating specialized industrial sewing machines including overlock, blind hemmers, cover stitch, etc.
