Here's what you'll do:
Acting as mentors to promote both personal and professional growth, Coaches frequently join students on their respective teams for lunch at their high school. They lead students in team building exercises to develop chemistry & trust within their unit. They also form relationships with members of each student’s circle of influence to ensure that they are excelling in other areas of their lives as well. A coach’s primary responsibility is to help each of their student develop & transition into a personal career plan prior to graduation

· Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all young people
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma, or GED
· Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth in an educational or developmental setting
Responsibilities:
· Coaches a team of 10-15 students through the 10-month program, with the goal of 90% graduation
· Builds ongoing relationships with students as a guidance counselor, mentor, and advisor
· Guides each student in career planning efforts
· Ensures student attendance, participation, and overall effort
· Aids with comprehensive program development, implementation, and growth as requested
· Aids in the implementation of ongoing student recruitment
· Develops & prepares classroom instruction related to character development, financial literacy, and employability skills
· Develops student recruitment strategies including marketing materials, student specific advertising, parent outreach and sources of prospective students
· Recruits' students through visits to Minneapolis high schools, churches, and community centers to speak with students, teachers, counselors, coaches, parents, and youth workers about Lake Street Works
· Builds ongoing relationships with students as a guidance counselor, mentor, and advisor
· In cooperation with coaching staff, prepares and leads classroom instruction related to character development, financial literacy, and employability skills
· Creates superior educational environment that reinforces curriculums taught, promotes student engagement, and supports core life-lesson messaging
· Adherence to agency policy, procedures and a professional code of ethics
· Other duties as assigned
