Construction Maintenance Worker 2

Responsibilities:

Incumbent will assist and perform maintenance and repair of the water and wastewater collection systems. Responsible to operate all equipment relative to maintenance and repair work, such as: sewer cleaning equipment, water pumps, truck, backhoe, etc. Provide support and perform installation and maintenance of water boxes, water taps, sewer taps, and repair of same, as well as, minor repair to various pieces of electrical equipment.  Serve as lead worker by providing on-the-job training and assisting with the work of other employees. Inspect work performed by inside and outside services, keeping Supervisor advised of progress; detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions; perform grounds and housekeeping duties as needed; accurately maintain daily log and time sheets; and follow prescribed safety regulations. Subject to 24-hour call-back/stand-by to perform emergency maintenance and repair after normal working hours, on nights, weekends and holidays. 

 

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or G.E.D., and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a maintenance position dealing with water and sewer lines, pump stations, water distribution and/or wastewater equipment operation or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Possession of a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record and CDL A required.
