Tax Accounting Assistant Intern
Position Duties Include:
- Verify taxpayer data and information
- Assist with maintenance of deduction and depreciation documentation
- Apply accounting knowledge for client write up services
- Produce required records for completing business tax returns and IRS collection case and audit substantiation
- Prepare and file sales tax and other non-income based tax returns
- Prepare and perform account reconciliations for the monthly closing process
- Other duties as assigned
- Assemble tax return packages for client/government filing, including e-filing
- Manage, organize and update relevant data using database applications
- Work directly with a team of tax preparers, accountants and bookkeepers
Learning Opportunities Include Learning and Utilizing Software such as:

- Office Tools Professional
- Microsoft Office Suite with extensive use of Outlook and Excel
Skills:

- Knowledge of common IRS forms
- Exceptional organization skills, ability to prioritize multiple task and attention to detail
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive client matters
- Ability to communicate effectively and deal courteously with others
- Ability to read, interpret and follow instructions
- Quick learner who seeks to expand knowledge of partnership tax procedures and processes
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
This is not a remote position. This is a Part-Time or Full-Time position, hours per week are flexible with a minimum of 20.
