ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
The Men’s Head Soccer Coach is responsible for the planning, development, administration, and oversight of the College soccer program; with primary focus on teaching, instructing and tutoring student athletes the rules and fundamentals of the sport of soccer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coach conducts practices and clinics, and determines the number, duration and content of those practices and clinics that is in the best interests of College.
- Coach will teach, tutor and instruct team members on the rules and fundamentals of the sport.
- Offers instruction and coaching to advance the performance of each athlete.
- Coach supervises and coaches the team on all travel of the home and away events.
- Develops, supervises and conducts the recruiting program for College’s soccer program.
- Responsible for supervising team members at all times during practices, games, and other times as directed.
- In conjunction with College’s Development Office, the Coach will develop a fund raising program.
- Ensures compliance with NJCAA; policies and procedures of Lackawanna College and their Athletic program.
- Promotes the well-being of student-athletes.
- All other duties assigned by the Athletic Director.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
- Current certification in American Red Cross CPR / First Aid.
- Trained in use of Automatic Electrodes Defibrillator (AED).
- Knowledge of safety guidelines and protocol.
- Strong Leadership and Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
- Commitment to fulfillment of the College mission.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
EDUCATION:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Prior soccer coaching experience required.
- Experience with recruiting preferred.
- Experience with fundraising preferred.
