Energy Division / Electric Costs and Retail Choice Branch / Utility Costs and Compliance Section:
Under general direction of the Program and Project Supervisor, the Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst I (PURA I ) will assist more senior level staff advise high-level decision-makers such as Commissioners, Judges, and Energy Division management on electric utility financing proceedings, general rate cases and other matters related to utility costs and regulatory compliance. The PURA I will act as a team member working under the guidance of the project coordinator of these cases. The PURA I will assist senior level staff during the compilation of annual reports and provide support for analysis during utility general rate cases, cost of capital proceedings, utility requests to securitize costs through issuance of recovery bonds, and other utility financing matters.
The PURA I is the entry level analyst position and will perform other work and assist more senior team members as necessary. Such tasks may include contributing to written reports, performing basic quantitative analyses related to utility and other party proposals, and addressing less complex utility advice letter submissions.
