Land Acquisition Internship

Position Overview:

The Land Acquisition Intern is responsible for assisting the development team in acquiring land that is supportive of the company’s strategy. Will be a 1-year internship with the potential to be hired on full-time.

Responsibilities:

·        Collaborate with the land acquisitions and development team to assist in the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of land for project use.

·        Contact (cold call/email) brokers, agents, and landowners for prospective land sales.

·        Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of land acquisitions, potential sites, old sites, and related documentation.

·        Utilize various scouting techniques, including online databases, GIS tools, and local resources to identify landowners and potential project sites.

·        Travel to potential site locations.

·        Evaluate financial models to determine yield on cost, IRR on capital related to potential development sites.

·        Complete all other duties as assigned by the manager.

·        Represent the company professionally in all internal and external interactions and communications.

Qualifications:

·        Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to collaborate with different teams.

·        Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for document management and research.

·        Proficient with Microsoft Suite.

·        Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

·        Professionally conveys self when communicating with brokers, agents, landowners, and other outside persons.

·        Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Compensation:

·        Wages: $18.00 per hour. Hours must be logged weekly. Additionally, this position is eligible for overtime over 40 hours per week at a rate of time and a half.
