Data Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with 4+ years of experience and a recent master’s degree (graduated August or December 2024). The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data engineering, database management, and data pipeline development. This role will involve creating and maintaining efficient and scalable data systems to support business intelligence and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process and transform large datasets.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to optimize data models and data workflows.
  • Implement data quality and validation processes to ensure high data reliability and accuracy.
  • Work with relational and non-relational databases, ensuring data availability and security.
  • Develop, test, and deploy data integration workflows and APIs.
  • Optimize existing data storage and retrieval processes to enhance performance.
  • Support cloud migration efforts and help manage data resources in cloud environments.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field (Graduated August or December 2024).
  • Experience: 4 years in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Java.
    • Experience with data warehousing technologies (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Amazon Redshift).
    • Familiarity with ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, Talend, or Informatica.
    • Knowledge of big data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop).
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and relevant data storage solutions.
  • Certifications: [Optional but recommended, such as AWS Certified Data Analytics or Google Professional Data Engineer].

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot data issues.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Familiarity with data governance, security best practices, and GDPR compliance.
  • Good communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
