The marketing team at Saint John’s Resort is seeking a talented and highly motivated event professional from the Detroit Metro area to drive awareness and excitement within our boutique property. This role will strategize, develop, and execute events that bring our resort to life, offering best-in-class guest experiences through activations, planned and ticketed events, partnerships, charity functions, and more!

Overview

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Event Planning/Guest Experience Ambassador to join our team! In this role, you will coordinate all aspects of events, from initial planning to execution, to ensure that our guests have an unforgettable experience. The Event Planning Ambassador acts as a liaison between the guest and property team to provide direction and supervision during the execution of eventsand planned campuswide activations or events that drive increased revenue while making for a unique and robust guest experience at the resort.

You will be the primary point of contact for guests during events, ensuring they feel welcomed, solving problems on the spot, and offering alternative solutions when needed. This role requires someone who will be available to guests during the event to welcome and execute plans, solve problems, and suggest alternatives to previous arrangements. Will directly and proactively serve themarketing team through the coordination with rooms, sales, F&B, golf, and outside support. We are looking for an individual who will naturally make our guests feel at home and attended to; someone who will embrace the possibilities of our growing, award-winning resort and help us create further our incredible guest experience through pop-up events, activations, engaging brand collaborations, concerts, Holiday events, and more.

A day in the life...

Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Marketing Manager to establish event goals and strategies that align with property objectives.

Develop event strategies that deliver to (1) tell the Saint John’s Resort story through compelling and innovative experiences highlighting our boutique upscale resort campus and core mission and (2) create and implement an always-on event and campuswide activation strategy focused on welcoming new and return guest visits and stays into our resort campus to support business goals and priorities.

Lead the strategic development of guest events by directly liaising with the Marketing, Sales, F&B, Rooms, and Golf for campus-held events and promotions while maintaining and ensuring that overall marketing goals are achieved.

Own event strategy and planning for a cross-functional marketing area to execute guest-centric events that drive resort awareness, new and return visits and stays, and increased guest volume.

Lead event intake and filtering process for guest requests to ensure that efforts ladder to the overall company strategy

Build, develop, lead, and support resort department leads and teams to plan and execute events and campus promotions that align with SJR brand and guest service standards while meeting budget plans and tracking expenses and invoices.

Be proactive in driving efficiencies for the campus rollout of mission-driven events, mainly evergreen events.

Manage financial aspects and budgets to drive efficiency and continuous improvement of events.

Provide event marketing insights and adjust strategy accordingly to be guest-relevant from internal team toolkits/rollouts before communicating with guests and the public.

Support the resort team and help liaise guest experience issues with the management team and department leads.

Stay current on best practices in event marketing, target guest segments, and critical metro and regional competitors while keeping up with the newest trends and keeping event innovation in mind.

Manage relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring high-quality service and products are delivered for events. Negotiate contracts, manage budgets, and coordinate logistics to maintain the highest level of guest satisfaction.

You've got this if you have...

A bachelor’s degree in marketing,communicationsor a related field is required.

3+ years' experience in event/experiential marketing with progressively larger responsibility, preferably in the boutique or luxury hospitality sector

Proven experience with multi-channel marketing, making marketing recommendations, setting marketing goals, and leading teams through concept and development

Ability to build strong relationships with peers and senior leadership across a diverse set of organizations and functions

Strong relationship-building and communication skills, as well as a proven ability to multitask

Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated negotiation and facilitation skills

Experience planning, owning, and managing marketing budgets

Experience managing, mentoring, and leading direct reports

Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership

Analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making

Vendor and Agency management experience
