Wellness Center Post Bachelor Student
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Institutional Employee Wellbeing Team Leader, this position provides preventive and rehabilitative institutional occupational safety and health services and programming, including, but not limited to, institutional wellness motivational programs, health and safety education classes and events, injury prevention training, surveillance medical programming, wellness facility operations and programming, and satellite wellness facilities operations.
This position's primary job role is required to provide exceptional customer service through supervision and staffing of the Wellness Center Facility, while also proving basic work processes and functions for facility registration and scheduling.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of and experience providing supervision and instruction to members of a health and fitness facility or corporate wellness setting.
- Basic knowledge of health, fitness, nutrition, and injury prevention principles.
- Ability to foster exceptional customer service with member interactions through group exercise classes, health & fitness consultations, and facility coverage duties.
- Basic knowledge of and experience with health and fitness, patient advocacy, and occupational health issues, including protection of patient health information.
- Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety practices.
- Ability to foster a high-level of operational excellence for late evening closing of the Wellness Center facility.
Training/Certifications: Basic Life Support and First Aid training
Education/Experience: Must have earned a Bachelor's degree within the last 3 years in program related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience with provision of health promotion, preventive medicine, and health education initiatives.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer use, office software, and web interfaces.
- Strong customer focus with ability to interact, communicate and influence a large cross-section of colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
- Current certification in First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Work Location:The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

This position will be filled as a Casual employee. Casual employees work no more than 40 percent of full-time hours (104 days or 832 hours) in a consecutive 12-month period. Casual employees have a term appointment type and are hired for periods of up to a maximum of 10 years. Term employees are at-will and may be terminated at any time.

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
