DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Our enthusiastic and dedicated nursing staff provides 24-hour care, seven days a week. From helping our residents prepare for their day to assisting them to participate in exciting activities, you will play a huge role in their day. Through this day-to-day contact with our residents, you will have the ability to positively impact their quality of life by providing the best possible care. 

This position is a starting step to a Nurse Aide position. Upon completion of an 8-hour training course, as well as successfully passing the competency exam, the 16-hour classroom course, and an 80-hour orientation program you will promote to a Nurse Aide. Work Schedule and Additional Information: 

  • Full-time employment (8-hour work day; 40-hour work week)
  • Work hours are 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, rotating days and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch. During classroom orientation hours will be 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

 

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Willingness to work in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania
  • Willingness to work a full-time permanent position for the 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM shift with rotating days and weekends (after certification is obtained on an 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM shift classroom orientation)
  • Completion of an 8-hour online training course prior to hire and providing a certificate of completion
  • Work experience caring for geriatric or physically ill individuals
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent


 

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
