Pay Range: $30 - $35/hr on W2 (Negotiable )

Project: Module/Subsystem Environmental Compliance (Long term)

Expectations
Looking for individuals with engineering and program management background to apply their skills to support identification of compliance-impacting materials and components, data collection of material and component design information to support compliance assessments, and coordination with pertinent cross-functional stakeholders. Ideal candidates have the ability to understand mechanical and electromechanical designs, including identification of ingress pathways. Candidates should also be able to organize and track impacts of designs and material selections across use in multiple assemblies and systems. A typical day would include (but not limited to): Outreach and intake of material data, identification and collection of material and component samples, distribution of pertinent data and samples to pertinent labs and stakeholders, and documentation of data and sample tracking, including generation of pertinent SOPs for standardization. Candidates have to work exceptionally well in a fast-paced environment and multitask between tasks and projects with various interdependencies.
 
 
• Expand coverage across all subsystems for environmental compliance initiatives
• Ensure continuous coverage and support across all Hardware Tech and system modules
• Establish standard practices and SOPs to support onboarding of current and additional support staff
• Scale-up of sub-system coverage
• Collect material information from Design Engineering and Contract Manufacturing Partners
• Collaborate with Subject Matters experts to review material, part, and component usage and characteristics against regulatory and internal requirements
• Tracking material, part and component utilization across multiple programs
• Develop training documentation
• Work exceptionally well in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask between tasks/projects
• Prepare Exec presentations and communicate findings with key stakeholder
 
 Success Criteria
Success criteria will be documenting and ensuring all assigned modules and programs release without the need for re-work, waivers, or field findings due to compliance issues
Success will be defined by cataloguing a detailed compliance document including all material and part utilization, as well as compliance results for each designated program or sub-system.
Technical Requirements
• Familiarity with Technical Drawings and specifications, including 2D and 3D Drawings, and EE Schematics
• Capability of understanding location of design components and potential ingress pathways
• Working experience collaborating with engineering and overseas contract manufacturing partners
• Ability to organize and track data utilizing spreadsheet tools (Numbers experience a plus) across multiple parallel product developments
• Past experience summarizing and communicating presentations to leadership
• Working level familiarity with product chemical and or energy/repairability regulations desired
• Understanding of visualization tools (Tableau, Airtable) a plus
 
 
Expectations by Phase
1. Onboarding/Training on Apple development and unique regulatory regulatory engagement approaches
2. Ramp-up onto existing module evaluations in current development programs for targeted regulations
3. Scale to coverage across all modules/sub-systems across designated focus area
4. Expand scope of oversight to include all pertinent regulatory impacts for given module/sub-system focus area
5. Establish standard practices, train, and prepare for expansion of oversight areas as necessary
 
 
Assumptions
• Candidate must have past experience working in a consumer electronics or comparable field in a technical role/function
• Candidate is able to work simultaneously across multiple focus areas while maintaining documentation and traceability
