Experience SAMSON Rotational Engineer
Summary/Objective:
Experience SAMSON is a comprehensive rotational program designed for recent university graduates to develop an understanding and proficiency in engineering and SAMSON products. Rotational Engineers will actively engage in various departments, gaining hands-on experience and completing structured training over a one-year period. The rotation will cover multiple departments such as supply chain, quality, production and inside sales engineering at our Baytown, TX headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn about the control valve and industrial automation industry.
- Engage with mentors to seek guidance, support, and weekly feedback.
- Contribute to departmental goals and objectives outlined in the program.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to meet the needs of the customer.
- Develop your skills as an engineer to communicate effectively and understand the products.
- Actively participate in and assist with workflow in different departments such as manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and application engineering.
Manufacturing
- Collaborate within the shipping and receiving department to facilitate efficient material flow in and out of the facility, while aiding in part picking and production coordination to ensure accurate component selection and familiarizing oneself with assembly processes.
- Contribute to the assembly line for valve production, gaining insight into machining techniques and machinery used in valve manufacturing, and support the production engineering team in reviewing drawings and assisting with production projects.
Quality
- Support Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE), participate in report writing, and contribute to documentation review to uphold quality assurance standards, including dimensional measurements for quality control.
Supply Chain / Order Handling
- Partner with the purchasing team to streamline ordering processes and review purchase orders, assist in optimizing order planning, and identify strategies to prioritize slow-moving inventory.
Inside Sales Engineer
- Engage with customers to comprehend their valve application requirements, participate in sizing and selecting appropriate valves, generate quotations based on sizing data, and facilitate order processing for production, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities throughout.
Qualifications:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial).
Training and Development:
- Assigned mentor for the duration of the program.
- Weekly meetings with mentor and completion of feedback forms.
- Structured rotations in Production, Supply Chain, Quality Control, Aftersales Service, Product Management, Marketing, Customer Service, and Inside Sales departments.
- Progress through Experience SAMSON Academy training levels, including software, theory, products, and application.
