Core Systems and Application Support Specialist

Job Summary:
The Core Systems and Application Support Specialist will play a key role in the daily operations and support of the credit union’s Symitar Core system and associated third-party applications. This role is focused on ensuring the seamless integration, support, and troubleshooting of software applications that align with the credit union’s strategic goals. Working closely with department managers, the Specialist will help coordinate system updates, new software implementations, and provide high-level technical support to optimize system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the daily operations and quality assurance of the Symitar Core system and third-party applications.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to support analysts and end-users as needed.
  • Assist with system administration, maintenance, and security tasks to maintain high system availability in a hosted EASE environment.
  • Coordinate with various departments on software implementations and system upgrades, such as loan origination and account opening systems.
  • Work with leadership to ensure project priorities are in alignment with business objectives.
  • Stay informed on industry advancements to suggest potential improvements to processes and services.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining policies, procedures, and security standards for core and third-party systems.
  • Provide technical support for system issues and ensure documentation is updated and accessible.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of IT experience with a focus on financial core system management and support.
  • 2+ years of experience with Symitar and PowerOn programming.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams.
