Internal Audit Internship - Aegon AM

PLEASE NOTE:  We are looking to hire one (1) intern who will work in our Cedar Rapids, IA office and under a hybrid work model. We are unable to hire on a remote, work-from-home basis. The internship is not available for students who have completed their college undergraduate education or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship.

Depending on the schedule and availability of the student hired, the internship could start in early February 2025 (with an estimate of 12-15 hours worked per week) or mid to late May 2025 (with an estimate of 30-40 hours worked per week). The internship duration will be up to twelve (12) weeks.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Use your innovative mindset to propose improvements and the modernization of any and all of the following tasks inflight as you learn to deliver them:

• Perform and document audit work under the guidance of a Sr. Auditor.
• Prepare materials that summarize audit work for various committees, boards etc.
• Participate in Build Your Network (BYN) opportunities to collaborate, develop additional skills, connect and build your professional network.
• Complete and present an internship project to the team.
• Additional tasks, as required.

• Are working toward a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, IT or relevant field.
• You have an innovative mindset and regularly look to use modern tooling like AI to recommend process improvements.
• Find yourself eager to learn and have a high attention to detail.
• Enjoy a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• Are dependable and reliable; able to work independently and as part a team.
• Have a working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
• Are interested in and/or have some experience with modern tooling like AI.

Who will be your new colleagues?

Aegon AM's Global Internal Audit team consists of a diverse group of professionals based in the US and the Netherlands. You will work alongside the entire team as you develop your audit and professional skills. You will be based in our Cedar Rapids, IA, office, working under a hybrid model of working from home and in the office. A minimum of two (2) days per week in the office is required.

Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant’s qualifications including the extent of candidate’s relevant experience and other job-related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR.
