Job Overview: The Crew Scheduler and Optimizer is responsible for scheduling and optimizing the daily activities of our solar installation crews, ensuring that projects are efficiently planned, executed, and completed on time. Additionally, this role involves overseeing the staging and organization of materials in the warehouse to ensure that the crew has the necessary equipment and supplies for each project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Crew Scheduling & Optimization:
o Schedule daily and weekly work for solar installation crews.
o Optimize crew assignments based on individual skill sets and project requirements to ensure the best team is deployed for each job.
o Monitor project timelines and adjust schedules as necessary to optimize productivity.
o Collaborate with project managers and crew leaders to ensure smooth operations.
o Communicate changes in schedules to all relevant parties.
o Ensure that crews are dispatched to job sites with the appropriate equipment and materials.
2. Warehouse Management:
o Oversee the organization and management of warehouse operations, including staging materials, tools, and equipment for upcoming projects.
o Conduct inventory checks and report shortages or reordering needs. o Review bills of materials and order materials while ensuring that we do not order items that are already in stock.
o Ensure all materials are properly labeled and stored in an orderly manner. o Coordinate with procurement to receive and stock new deliveries.
o Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the warehouse area.
3. Data & Reporting:
o Maintain accurate records of crew schedules, project completion statuses, and inventory levels.
o Provide regular reports on scheduling progress and any scheduling delays or issues.
o Track performance metrics to help improve crew efficiency and job completion rates.
4. Team Collaboration:
o Work closely with the installation teams, warehouse staff, and management to ensure alignment on goals and timelines.
o Assist in solving logistical or scheduling conflicts.
o Provide clear communication to all team members to ensure everyone is on the same page.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in a scheduling or operations role in construction.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
• Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Physical Requirements:
