Mechanical Engineering Intern Summer 2025

BlackPearl’s 10-week paid internship program runs from May 27th to August 8th and will be on-site. You will work closely with the Software and Operations interns on 2 group projects. As the Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will also complete an individual project assigned to you upon hire. The Mechanical Engineering department supports all project mechanical needs which include, but not limited to, enclosure or housing design, downhole tool design, rapid prototyping, component packaging, component design, and assembly processes. 

Essential Functions 

·       Assisting in projects and/ or other departments, as needed 

·       Support with product testing and manufacturing 

·       3D Modeling and Drafting 

·       Using Measurement tools for Inspection 

·       On hands assembly and hand tool usage. 

·       Understanding Materials and Machine processes 

·       Learning Resin 3D printing process and printing 

·       Observe and participate in mechanical department meetings and decision-making 

·       Inventory Control 

Qualifications: 

·       Enrolled in an accredited college or university 

·       Must have sophomore-level Mechanical Engineering curriculum completed 

·       SolidWorks experience, or equivalent 

·       Achieving a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent 

·       Ability to work 32-40 hours a week; day-to-day hours flexible 

·       Preferred GPA: 3.0 or higher
