Assistant Airport Director
Job Description
This position is responsible for assisting in directing the operations of the municipal airport.
Examples of Duties
• Assists in directing the day-to-day operations of the airport.
• Directs the operations, maintenance and administration functions of the airport.
• Oversees and monitors compliance with FAA, TSA and other federal, state and local requirements.
• Assists in preparing and administering airport budgets.
• Plans, directs and develops airport infrastructure development and improvement plans.
• Develops, negotiates, and coordinates contracts with consultants, and leases; monitors contract compliance.
• Serves as the Airport Security Coordinator.
• Serves as the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Liaison Officer for the airport.
• Hires, trains, assigns, directs, schedules, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines personnel.
• Performs related duties.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Dakota for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
• Must meet and maintain qualifications pursuant to 49 CFR Part 1542 (Unescorted Access Authority).
