Quality Systems Coordinator

Quality Systems Coordinator

This position is the key administrative function for the factory food safety and quality systems and serves as back-up coverage for the microbiology and analytical chemistry laboratory. The Quality Systems Coordinator is responsible for managing the documents and record systems and ensuring compliance for HACCP, GMP, BlueTriton Brands Quality Management Systems and all related food safety programs. The candidate provides quality systems leadership, support, and training to the factory by identifying key opportunities and implementing projects as well as tracking and reporting systems to improve food safety, product quality and regulatory compliance.

 

Reporting Location: Hollis, ME
Pay: $30.00 / hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Full-Time, 1st Shift

Responsibilities

  • Support/Lead internal audit function within the factory for BlueTriton Brands FSMS, ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 and IBWA standards
  • Verify plant quality and food safety programs and practices are in place, effective and compliant (QMS review)
  • Support Microbiological and Analytical laboratory functions, providing back-up/vacation coverage when needed
  • Maintain factory Quality Team rooms site including Document Control program
  • Develop/coach/train employees on quality programs and compliance standards
  • Site Administrator for Infinity QS, Traceability Tool, Microweb Database, Sensory Database, Consumer Complaint Database, Mineral Tracking Log
  • Manage Calibration Program (ICP, Master Equipment log, 3rd Party Calibrations, etc.)
  • Serve as Traceability Team Lead
  • Develop, document and implement best practices for quality systems
  • Manage factory quality non-conformance log, verify non-conformance corrective actions for internal and external audit findings
  • Participate in HACCP reviews and perform monthly HACCP verification tracking activities

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science/Technology, or comparable Science field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Globe SAP, and InfinityQS
  • Microbiology or analytical chemistry lab experience preferred
  • Knowledge of water chemistry and experience working with chemicals.
  • Knowledge of microbiological techniques such as preparation of media, reading and interpreting microbial growth.
  • Ability to troubleshoot laboratory and operational equipment and work with others for problem resolution.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of Quality system standards and practices
  • Strong organizational, record keeping, analytical, and problem solving skills are required
  • Attention to detail and high degree of self-governed responsibility
  • Ability to move/handle 50 lbs and stand on your feet for long periods of time throughout the day.
