Restaurant Manager Internship
POSITION TYPE: Internship
START DATE: Flexible
LENGTH: 10 to 12 weeks
LOCATION: Columbia, Springfield and Greater St. Louis Area
SCHOOL YEAR: Senior
Responsibilities:
- Learn about Waffle House business and culture
- Identify, recruit, and interview potential hourly associates
- Make or recommend hiring decisions and oversee initial training
- Supervise and direct the work of all hourly associates when present in the restaurant or when communicating with associates from outside the workplace
- Coordinate production and service activities of a team of associates to ensure efficient, customer-focused service
- Actively participate in production, service and maintain cleanliness of food preparation area
- Inspect the inside and outside of the restaurant for maintenance and cleaning needs and follow up to ensure maintenance and cleaning issues are resolved
- Conduct inventory and ensure adequate amount of food and supplies are on hand
Education / Qualifications:
- Good writing skills and extremely creative, out of the box thinker
- Demonstrated Leadership
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to people and professional development
- Basic business knowledge
- US citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent/effective English communication skills (oral and written)
- Desire to work in an operational environment
- Work well with and ability to lead a team, demonstrate sensitivity and empathy towards others
- Work in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision (possesses stamina and endurance) Follow rules, guidelines and directions
