Sales & Design Associate

About this Role

In addition to being a sales associate, your role will involve serving as a trusted advisor to trade professionals and retail customers, helping them choose the best flooring and tile products for their space. Your expertise will help guide customers to choose products that incorporate function and performance while reflecting their unique style. You'll establish and maintain lasting relationships, turning into the go-to resource for builders, designers, and homeowners.

 In addition, you will develop new contacts to market the company’s products with a goal of solidifying and expanding the company’s customer base.

1. Develops relationships with current customers, potential customers, trade professionals and others.

2. Assist customers by providing knowledge and training company products to their personnel, to ensure personnel is able to present product and negotiate well with consumers.

3. Guide customers during product selection process for correct design and function.

4. Understands our products, our market competition and how to position products to overcome these factors.

5. Manages displays, samples, and selling tools for customer availability.

6. Quotes prices, discusses credit terms and prepares sales contracts for customer orders

7. Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of company’s delivery schedules.

8. Review and analyze various sales reports to identify sales potential with current customers and potential new customers

9. Utilize any and all marketing tools such as catalogs, brochures and vendor collateral to broaden reach in territory and promote company product

10. Researches and analyzes customer needs and demands based on market information

11. Investigates and resolves customer claims/problems with deliveries, returns and credits

12. Attends trade shows throughout the year as required

13. Update product and job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

14. Set-up and maintain professional memberships and profiles on social media platforms to generate business leads.

15. In home appointments to measure and assist in product selection process.

16. Read and review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other building information from customers.

17. Learn flooring estimating software.

18. Complete follow through of projects to assure customers 100% satisfaction.

19. Maintain a positive and energetic attitude to create an effective, stable and safe work environment, with a willingness to lead by example.

20. Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned.

Work Environment:

This job operates in both a remote and office environment as well as in the employee’s personal vehicle. This role routinely uses standard office equipment computers, phones, standard showroom materials and equipment such as sample displays and measuring tools.
